General Motors has released details on the off-road accessory light bar that will be available for the GMC Hummer EV pickup and SUV.
The accessory light bar, officially referred to by GM as the “ off-road light bar, ” provides additional forward visibility at night and in low-sunlight conditions and is particularly useful for illuminating dark off-road trails . The 50-inch light bar has a slight curvature that follows the contour of the GMC Hummer EV’s roof, giving it a refined, seamless appearance. The lens also has a darker smoky finish which “adds to the aesthetic appeal without diminishing light output,” says the automaker. Pricing for the light bar has yet to be announced.
The Off Road light bar can be operated from inside the cab of the GMC Hummer EV using the virtual auxiliary switches on the digital instrument cluster / driver display center. GM says the vehicle’s driver information center was designed from the ground up to operate accessories such as light bars and is fully customizable to suit the needs of different users. Unlike an aftermarket accessory light bar, the official accessory light bar features integrated GMC Hummer EV brackets and wiring for easy installation and improved exterior appearance. A Hummer EV branded cover for the light is also included with the purchase, as well as “arrangements for mounting small action cameras”, such as a GoPro to “catch all the fun”, on the trails in the back. -country.
GM has developed a line of accessories for the 2022 GMC Hummer EV which will launch alongside the battery-powered electric truck later this year. Optional transverse roof rails will also be included in the accessories catalog for the vehicle, which will allow Hummer EV owners to throw additional cargo and larger items like bikes and kayaks on the roof of the vehicle.
The GMC Hummer EV pickup will go into production at GM Factory Zero this fall, with the GMC Hummer EV SUV joining the pickup variant in early 2023.
