Police are investigating after an Esquimalt woman confronted an intruder in her bedroom.

Victoria Police Service were called to a house in the 600 block of Bryden Court shortly before 3am Thursday (September 1). A woman in the house said she was woken up by a man in her bedroom dressed in dark clothes with a flashlight.

She screamed and he ran out of the house.

The woman was not physically injured in the incident.

Officers, including the Integrated Canine Service, searched the area but were unable to locate any suspects.

VicPD is asking anyone in the area who has CCTV, such as a doorbell camera, to check their footage for images that match the suspect’s description.

The man is described as Caucasian, 5’10” tall and of medium build. He wore a black shirt and pants with a black baseball cap and appeared to have curly hair.
