A COUPLE bought the chalet of their dreams after spotting what they thought was a BODY hidden in a bed in one of the publicity photos.
Louis and General Eveleigh laughed at the mysterious photo of the body before purchasing the dilapidated stone cottage to turn into their perfect country getaway.
They first spotted the property in Snowdonia National Park in North Wales after seeing a questionable photo of the bedroom online.
The real estate agent’s photo showed the bed covered in a pink sheet with huge lumps and bumps underneath.
It’s unclear what was under the bed sheet when the photo was taken, but the couple were curious to find out.
Louis said: “We weren’t happy with where we lived – schools with growing classes and poor performance, and stressful jobs.
“The reason we considered watching it still makes us laugh. There were no great photos, the rooms looked tired and peculiar.
“And then there was the photo of what looked like someone who had died and was covered in sheets.”
The couple then decided to visit the house – now 12 years later, they have spent over a decade creating the perfect family home surrounded by stunning scenery.
“It clearly required a lot of work, but it was exactly what we wanted – a blank canvas to create our house,” Louis said.
The property dates back to 1750, when it used to be two separate farm worker cottages.
A second story was added in 1829 with a grant from the nearby church and still has slate floors and local river stone walls.
The house is now filled with recycled furniture and vintage finds – with wood hand-picked by Louis.
