The holidays are fast approaching and savvy parents are already shopping for their children ahead of the major Black Friday rush, especially in anticipation of toy shortages this year due to supply chain difficulties.

So, what’s at the top of the list of the most popular toys this year? Amazon has released its forecast for the season, which includes LOL Surprise Dolls by MGAE, a Melissa and Doug Blue’s Clues Licensed Playset, One Breyer horses Advent calendar, Hot wheels by Mattel, Lincoln Logs by Basic Fun!, 3D puzzles of Ravensburger and 94 other toys designed for children (and adults) of all ages. Lots of toys are interactive this year, and STEM / STEAM toys take pride of place. Of course, puzzles still have a moment, and dolls that promote social growth are also in demand for the little ones.

In 2005, Decorative gifts and accessoriesAssociate editor Tina Benitez highlighted several Christmas-themed toys designed to bring kids extra joy in the season. Many classics have seen a revival as well, including Holly Hobbie, a plush gorilla wearing a santa hat from Gund and foam stickers from Creative Hands.
