After Aaron Carter hinted in a interview with TMZ Thursday that he’s got his own bombshell to drop on Michael Jackson, people have wondered about his past relationship with the late pop star and how the two knew each other.
We know that Aaron spent a lot of time with Michael at his Neverland Ranch as a teenager.
Aaron’s relationship with Michael began in 2001 when he was just 14 years old. Aaron reportedly met Michael in a recording studio and Michael befriended him. Their friendship began after Michael asked Aaron to perform in his 2001 song What More Can I Give which was recorded after the 9/11 attacks.
Michael then invited Aaron to Neverland. Following Aaron’s visit, Michael asked him to perform at the concert celebrating the anniversary of his 30 years as a solo artist, which took place in September 2001 at Madison Square Garden.
Aaron continued to visit Michael at Neverland in 2002 and 2003 when he was 15 and 16.
Aaron’s comments about what happened between him and Michael during this time have been contradictory. In some interviews he claimed that Michael did not give him drugs or alcohol, but in other cases he appeared to admit that MJ gave him drugs and alcohol during his visit to Neverland.
In March, Aaron threatened to hit Wade Robson on the sexual assault allegations Wade made against MJ in the 2019 documentary Leaving Neverland.
He defended MJ, claiming the allegations were false.
Aaron also objected to a tweet Wade allegedly posted that referred to him. The tweet, which came from an account believed to have belonged to Wade, implied that Aaron had also been assaulted by MJ or that he knew MJ was abusing children.
Although Wade’s attorney later said the tweet was from a fake account, Aaron denied the suggestion that he was also sexually abused by Michael or that he knew of other children allegedly abused by the pop star.
Aaron insisted that his personal experience with Michael was different from what Wade claimed in the documentary Leaving Neverland.
On Thursday April 11, about a month after accusing Jackson’s accusers of Leaving Neverland of lying, he announced in an interview with TMZ that he was ready to drop his own bombshell revelation on Jackson.
He also warned that Jackson’s family could be upset by what he was about the revelation.
Carter seems to suggest that he may have had similar experiences with MJ that he never shared.
“As far as this situation goes, I actually have my own experience with Michael, so I’m going to talk about it,” he told TMZ.
When asked by the TMZ reporter if he had also been sexually assaulted by MJ, he elusively replied, “You’re just going to have to find out.”
But he added that his family had known what he was about to share for years, but the Jackson family hadn’t.
He hinted that the Jackson family wouldn’t like what he was about to reveal about MJ.
“Stay strong, I love you guys, and even if I say something you don’t like,” he said, “it’s still my truth and you’re going to have to accept it.”
